Bandana Pirate

When our artist was a small child she remembers feeling semi-terrorized by the Portland Pirates, a loud band of harmless costumed grownups who livened up the Rose Festival every spring. Still waiting for word of my acceptance . . .

Then when she moved to Washington State she was again terrorized, this time by the SeaFair Pirates during Seattle’s annual festival. However, she was impressed with the SeaFair Pirates’ sense of sartorial style. In addition to the leather tricorn hats sporting oversized ostrich plumes, there were lots of bandanas, and not all of them red.
