Coral Seahorse

Undoubtedly some of the ocean's most fascinating creatures; seahorses come in such a wide variety of forms and colors, and their social patterns are unique. At certain aquariums they are the biggest draw, beating out even the sharks!

Here in the Pacific Northwest we are not blessed with these critters, but we seem to love them anyway! These beautiful coral-red seahorses live in the depths of the ocean and rely on camouflage and wit to survive the dangers around them. The soft white acrylic background on this 19" x 19" pillow sets off their silhouettes; this is commercial indoor outdoor fabric decorated with nontoxic, durable textile paints. Crabby Chris applies the color to the fabric by hand one pillow at a time, making each a one-off that is not exactly like any other.

The polyester fiberfill is encased in a polypropylene casing; the whole shebang can be hosed off or spot cleaned and still look new. The hue most closely matches Crayola "Wild Strawberry", but is actually a blend of colors (take a zoomed-in look). Designed, painted, copyrighted, sewn, stuffed and signed by the artist on a real island in the Pacific Northwest, where crabs outnumber people.
