Those clever Japanese glassblowers – they’ve been reusing and recycling for decades. Beachcombers the world over feel appreciation for those artisans’ practical repurposing of discarded sake bottles, creating glass floats to suspend fishing nets far out in the ocean. The subtle color variation of the floats is due to the range of colors of the sake bottles. Unfortunately for the fishermen, but fortunately for the rest of us, thousands upon thousands of these little works of art have been liberated by the forces of nature and have come to rest upon our shores. Oh, how we love those gorgeous shades of green, some with just a touch of blue!
